Efecto de los intercambiadores de calor en la potencia máxima de generadores termoeléctricos

La conductancia térmica de contacto que existe entre los intercambiadores de calor y la superficie de un dispositivo termoeléctrico es un factor que afecta a la máxima potencia eléctrica de este último. Específicamente, el efecto antes mencionado ha sido poco estudiado en generadores termoeléctricos segmentados. El presente trabajo muestra un método con el cual es posible modelar a un módulo termoeléctrico compuesto de dos segmentos y realizar cálculos de la máxima potencia eléctrica que puede producir el sistema; tomando en cuenta la conductancia térmica de contacto y la combinación de los materiales de los segmentos que componen al módulo. El estudio se hizo partiendo del modelado del sistema físico, se platearon las cantidades termoeléctricas que intervienen en los cálculos para posteriormente formular las ecuaciones que gobiernan la física del problema; las cuales fueron sometidas a variaciones en función de la conductancia térmica de contacto y lograr determinar las condiciones que favorecen a la máxima potencia eléctrica. El principal aporte de este trabajo es la aplicación de la formulación de cantidades equivalentes para el análisis del rendimiento de un módulo termoeléctrico segmentado y la forma en que es afectado por imperfecciones en su estructura como el contacto entre su superficie y los intercambiadores de calor.
