At present the Human Talent Management in the University, should be considered as a strategic unit; with the ability to influence the formulation and implementation of objectives and strategies, in such a way that they become one of the greatest academic advantages. The recruitment of the teaching staff must be carried out carefully according to the requirements of the Laws and of the Academic Model adopted in the university centers. In this study, a review and analysis of current trends around the topic of Human Talent Management and its effect on productivity and institutional competitiveness is made; Therefore, the objective is to analyze the theoretical and administrative component involved in the selection, hiring and training of human capital of the "Eloy Alfaro" Lay University in Manabí. As a methodology, the qualitative-descriptive paradigm was used from a documentary analysis, necessary to describe the foundations of written literature, which contribute to the analysis of current trends around the topic of human talent management. To obtain the primary information, the interview technique was applied. The results highlight the importance of addressing issues regarding organizational learning and decent work from the perspective of a conceptual model for the management of human talent and through this create a model to guide decision making, to make the investment profitable of hiring personnel.
