Abstract

This article aims to critically analyze the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on educational and business leadership by examining its ethical, political, and relational implications. Through a review of recent academic literature, specialized sources on algorithmic governance, leadership ethics, and organizational transformation were examined and thematically analyzed to identify common patterns across the educational and business sectors. The analysis shows that AI systems are perceived as objective and efficient tools, while embedding the values, priorities, and biases of those who design them and of the data on which they are trained, which may produce inequitable consequences for different groups of people. As organizations increasingly rely on algorithmic systems for decision-making, tensions emerge regarding the lack of regulatory clarity and the weakening of institutional trust. In education, algorithms used in admissions, assessment, and governance processes may compromise equity and institutional autonomy. In business, technologies for monitoring employee performance generate conflicts between algorithmic surveillance and the principles of ethical leadership. The comparative analysis of both sectors reveals three common risks: technological determinism, ethical erosion, and the weakening of accountability. A human-centered leadership framework is proposed, integrating critical AI literacy, ongoing ethical oversight, transparency, and institutional responsibility. The article concludes that AI can support leadership processes, as the main challenge lies in its reflective and responsible integration.
